What to expect at the Dove Inn

When you leave The Dove Inn, we want you to be ready to come back and stay asap. Here are some notes on our inn so that you can know what to expect and get the most out of your stay!

The Dove Inn was built in 1866! She’s old and sometimes that means she makes funny noises. We have chosen period pieces to reflect the beauty and charm from that era, but we’ve modernized much of the inn. Check-in is automated and breakfast is simple. This isn’t a hover-y kind of Bed and Breakfast. You may not see us for your whole stay! We believe that you know best how to spend your time, and we think you’ll find the inn a luxurious and comfortable place to do just that.

Though you may not always see us around, we want you to feel as comfortable as you are at home. We will always have locally roasted coffee for the making and the drinking – we’re not monsters! Please enjoy whatever you see in the living room/dining area.

Breakfast is self serve, continental style. We always try to have local, fresh items. You can expect things like fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola and pastries. We think a simple, happy breakfast gets your day started on the right foot. If you need more of a cowboy breakfast, Golden is home to some delicious restaurants and coffee shops!

We don’t offer full cleaning service, but we are happy to give your room a little refresher while you’re out (just hang the door tag outside in the morning).

We do not have cable TV, but we do have Netflix available to stream on the TVs in each room.

Our policies

BOOKING POLICY

All reservations require full prepayment.

We cannot accept phone reservations. We want you to be in charge of your own destiny, but we are happy to answer any questions and quell any concerns! We’re happy to walk you through the process, if it feels daunting.

Our prices are based on double occupancy, $25/night per extra person. Our 3 suites are equipped with comfy pull out twin day beds, which can sleep 1 person. We have a limited supply of roll away beds as well. Do note that our rooms are quaint and many will not fit the roll away.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Canceling your plans is for the birds, but we understand that it happens.  We try to have a system policy that is simple and fair.

Stays canceled more than 7 days (1 week) before your reservation will receive a full refund.

Stays canceled less than 7 days before a reservation will be charged a cancellation fee equal to the first night’s stay.

No call, no shows (failing to cancel or alter your reservation and not showing up) will be charged for the first night’s stay and the remainder of the stay will be cancelled.

If you must leave before your scheduled check-out date, please note that your unused room nights will be subject to the cancelation policy above.

CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT POLICY

You are welcome to check in anytime after 3pm! In order to allow you to come and go with ease and comfort, check-in is automated. You will arrive with a code to get into the inn and your room! No more keys to fall out of your pocket on that beautiful hike up at White Ranch!

We are happy to try to accommodate early check-ins as well.

Check-out is at 11am.

ROOM CLEANING

In order to maintain your privacy, we do not offer a daily cleaning service. Let us know if your room needs a refresher.

ROOM DAMAGES

When you book online with us, our system keeps your card on file to cover any extra charges and damage. We have many Victorian pieces in the inn that cannot be replaced, so any damage to furniture, linens and other property will be assessed and then billed to the customer at our replacement cost, which may include labor costs. Smoking in non-smoking areas will also be considered as damage and be charged accordingly. We will always try to be transparent in our communication about damage to the rooms. Keep in mind that excessively soiled linens, carpets and furniture will be included as damages.

CHILD POLICY
We love kids. But, because of the nature of the home and its furnishings, the inn is not appropriate for children under the age of 10. We do, however, accept well-supervised children aged 10 and over.

PET POLICY

We love our furry friends too! Unfortunately, we are not equipped to let Fluffy or Rover stay. So no pets. We are sorry for the inconvenience!

PROPERTY RULES

No smoking of any kind is allowed inside any of the rooms. If you would like to smoke, you must be outside. There is a smoking area in the front of the inn, please do not smoke in the back area.

Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Noise can travel in an old house like ours, so please be mindful of our other guests. If we have to repeatedly ask you to quiet down, we will then ask you to leave the property and no refund will be given.
